• History Fabrimex

    Fabrimex AG was founded more than 60 years ago. We have been developing and producing power supplies since more than 30 years and have earned an excellent reputation in the Swiss and the international markets. Thanks to our vast experience we are fully aware of our customer's expectations: A power supply that works well and delivers maximum performance - with the longest possible service life.

  • Dates

    1947 -  Foundation of the Fabrimex AG, based in Zurich. First representation was for Bosch capacitors used in equipment for power factor correction.

    1955 - With the take over of the general agency of International Rectifier (USA) for semiconductors, Fabrimex is entering the industrial electronics market. In the following year the activities with Texas Instruments are starting. 

    1978 - Fabrimex starts with in-house development and production of power supplies. Intensification of international activities. 

    1979 -  Start of photovoltaic business by representing the ARCO-Solar (USA) in Switzerland.

    1982 - Acquisition of Dr. K. Witmer Elektronik AG, Erlenbach, leading Swiss manufacturer of bench power supplies. 

    1990 – Founding of CAC Fabrimex GmbH and intensification of power supply business in Germany.

    1992 - The business unit component distribution is sold to Spoerle Electronic (Arrows).

    1994 - All business units move to one site in Volketswil nearby Zurich. 

    1995 - Founding of the Fabrimex GmbH as a production company for electronics and for the manufacturing of power supplies. 

    1996 - Certification of the Fabrimex quality management system according to ISO 9001.

    2001 - Founding of Fabrimex Far East Ltd. as an IPO with a branch in Taipei.

    2005 - Partition of the FABRIMEX AG into two independent entities

    • FABRIMEX SYSTEMS AG industrial PC's and imaging

    2007 - Fabrimex AG power supplies becomes a subsidiary company of the WERAP AG, Bubikon and moves from Volketswil to Bubikon, Switzerland.
